30yr laptop batteries?

Posted this one or two other places, but it's just so cool a concept..

According to this article, not only has the US Air Force Research Laboratory made environmentally-friendly batteries that provide continuous power for 30 years possible, they could be commercially available in 2-3 years.

http://www.nextenergynews.com/news1/next-energy-news-betavoltaic-10.1.html

There were quite a few links about this when I googled the subject, so I guess it's no hoax. Could someone with a better head for tech than I have weigh in on the subject? If this is for real, I suspect the retail price will be prohibitive at first but still.. the applications in other fields are staggering. What field couldn't be furthered by a self-sustaining power supply with a lifespan measured in decades?

Thoughts on porn

Oh yeah, as if you're thinking of anything else anyway!

Seriously, since I'm not into it, felt fine with that, and wanted to put a finer point on it, I went a-scrougin' for someone who was well-researced and better spoken on the topic. I mean, porn is everywhere -- what's up wih that? Enter the Manchester Guardian:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,3605,1079016,00.html

Just putting it out there... I'm especially interested in the ultimately unsatisfying aspect of porn, and its use to project frustrated hate on women (I'm thinking specifically of things like c*m shots in women's faces, its use as a "2nd / other woman" in relationships, etc.

Interesting that: the most downloaded porn image on the net (according to the researchers) isn't mere porn, but images of a horse doing a woman...

Check out the article first if you can, there are a lot of points to consider in there... not to mention their quotes from Ted Bundy... :0

My Men Will Do What You Tell Them!

My Men Will Do What You Tell Them!

Good boys!

Male Sex Slaves For Women
http://tribes.tribe.net/sexslaves

The rules they've agreed to:

All males in this group must follow the sexual commands of the women in the group that are within a 50-mile driving distance. If she says, “come over to my place and take off your clothes”, you do so even if she wants you to get naked in front of a room full of people. If she says, “give me a massage and then lick my pussy”, you do so. If she rolls over and says, “now, lick my butt”, you do so. If she says, “pleasure my friend,” you pleasure her friend.

Within this group only the females are allowed to make any kind of sexual requests or offers. Male slaves must have a picture of yourself in your profile and it also must contain your location. These rules do not apply to the women in the group.

There is also a private "Male Sex Slaves for Women" tribe set up for women, and the males at this site are also their sex slaves.

This Tribe is strictly set up for free exchanges. Fem-doms offering services that are tied to “financial domination” will have their advertisements deleted. Likewise any other advertisements for pay such as for pay porn-sites, professional dating services, professional strippers (male or female), etc. will be deleted.

Nothing involving pain, poop, minors, or that is unsafe is required of our male sex slaves, but all safe and sane sexual commands from our women are mandatory for men to stay in the tribe. Have fun!

What do you think about?

An interesting (at least to me) question was posted on another tribe I belong to; "What do you think about during sex?"
Since nobody took the question seriously there, I'm going to pose it here. Whether it be love-making, grudge fucking, or just the tender moments of an intimate snogging; what thoughts, ponderings or daydreams if any, cross your mind?
I'm a little ADD (people who know me will be saying, "Noo.. you?!) so I have a hard time shutting my brain off. My thoughts go everywhere and nowhere until that moment of exquisite orgasm when my mind goes completely blank. A few minutes later though, and I'm wondering where I left my cigarettes.
How about you?

Hi all,

We've started a Yahoo Group for the purpose of gathering support and interest in an independent coffee house we plan to open in the northern suburbs of Metro-Detroit, Michigan. The group description is as follows:

"This group is for any and all individuals with the vision and desire to see a truly unique independent coffee house and rare/hard to find/used book-store open in eastern-central Oakland County."

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/boundandgrounds/

If you are interested, or even just curious, please check it out.

Key differences between our coffee-house and many corporate chains will include, but are not limited to:
- in-store roasting
- custom blended teas/ herbal infusions
- nonproprietary techniques; we plan to hold classes in home-roasting and tea blending
- the inclusion of a rare/used book store
- regular open-mike poetry, local bands/musicians, and game
tournaments
- design and wall space given to local artisans; we hope to allow gallery space for special viewings of photo, print/painting, jewelry, and small sculpture; artists may chose to sell their work through our location
- a desire to foster a feeling of community.

Our mission statement places high priority on making this a place where the customers feel like regulars, and the regulars feel that they have a say in the way we do business.

We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Yours in the bean,
Jaime and Adam Magy

Interesting - not sure I agree with all of it, but some points in this article were thoughtful...

I especially thought the polygamous societies being uniformly more violent was amazing... and dovetails with the radio bit I heard recently (on 'The World') about how phone porn is so prevalent in Middle Eastern societies, where opposite sexes cannot even touch before marriage, dowries are high, and men are convinced they will never get married (or have sex...)

Ok, so let's say you've discovered the perfect aphrodesiac, and the perfect M.O. So, no matter what you look like, you just have hordes of the preferred sex, a-bangin' on your door, 24/7, willing to do whatever you want.

It's possible, ya know. Especially these days.

So what do you end up doing?

I mean, I wonder how many people have the vision & wherewithal to climb up the learning curve?

It kind of reminds me of looking for cars. You look at too many, you can forget your goals or become a fantasist/perfectionist, & it just gets harder to decide.

& with dating, I think when it gets too easy, we run the risk of becoming too knee-jerk about trading our partner in (or never bother to learn how to choose well).

In that case, we also never bother to transform the hot '1st phase' nookie into the longer-burning 'wow, I want that person forever, I wanna use sex to bond with & honor that soul' dealio.

just sayin'.

A question about creativity

Ok, so after much hunting finaly I found this word "sapioesexual" It described (sort of ) my more great yet unfortunate (and completely inflexible) preferences, and yet it does not entirely hit the mark, because as I learn more about myself I find to a greater and greater extent that it isn't *smart* at all the gets me going...it's brilliant insightfull creativity,( with emphasis on the creativity).

So here is the question, is there a name for someone who is aroused by creativity?

it seems there's some sort of correlation between "smart" people [by that i don't mean encyclopedia smart knowing the gross export budget of lithuiania or understanding the theory of relativity but rather smart in terms of thinking outside 'the box'; willing to converse on a higher level as it were]

and people who are sexually broad-minded. maybe its the whole think outside the box thing that carries over.

I'm reposting this statistic along with a poem I wrote several months ago.

The US spends four times more on breast-implants and viagra than it does researching treatment/cures for alzheimer's, dementia, and all other memory ailments combined. This means that within ten to fifteen years the nursing homes will be overfilled by Baby Boomers with perfect tits, rock-hard cocks, and no fucking clue what to do with them.

Mighty Phallus in my hand;
How proud you look! How tall you stand!
Once, I knew what you were for.
Now I beat you on the floor.

Wait, didn't I already use that joke..?

Just because I'm curious and way too farkin' lazy to look at every profile; let's find out the basics about each other. I asked this a few years ago, but a lot of time has passed, and the membership has changed since then.
Who are you, why are you, what are you, where are you, and umm.. what would you do for a Klondike Bar®? Add any information you feel we might benefit from.
I'll start:
Adam
Because no one else could be.
Sapien Lupus Sapien - M
30 minutes north of Detroit, MI
I would trade affection for chocolatey-ice cream goodness. So far it's only amounted to snogging, but I'm open. ;o)
Speaking of open, I pretty much have no filter or boundries with regard to the subjects I'll discuss so, if there's anything you want to know, just ask.

Enough about me; let's find out about you.

Lack of emotional connection in sapiosexual relationships

OK, in another thread I advised that the means to add a little life to this forum was for as many as possible to begin a couple new subjects.

I don’t have the time to do two [right now though I will do a second soon].

This is the first.

Has anyone noticed a certain frequency with which emotional connection seems to take second place in sapiosexual relationships?

This may be just me, however in the past I have noticed that some seem tot think exhibitionist intellectual prowess is some substitute for powerful emotional intimacy.

It is only my opinion, however I do not consider intelligence to be a substitute for intimacy, nor ultimately even a means to it, but more of a tool [among many] with which it may be delivered.

Thoughts comments?

I found this on the "EVERYTHING CENSORED" tribe. I think it bears repeating/reposting/outright purloining..

-----------------------------------------------
The definition of: Political Correctness

A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
-----------------------------------------------

Hidden deep within that statement is an interesting point. We often blame the rightist uber-nazis for the lengths gone to in the name of a "family-friendly" society, including PCism run rampant. However, political correctness was started by the liberal need to see everyone "equal" and no one offended.
"You can't call him crippled. He's differently-abled"
"She's not a honky bitch; that is a person of noncolor."
"They're not lettuce-picking wet-backs. They're undocumented farmhands with a nontraditional commute."
I offer you now my favorite liberal double standard: If a woman is shown naked in PlayBoy/Hustler/Club/High Society or one of the many others, she is being objectified and exploited by the Patriarchy. If a man sticks a bullwhip up his ass and calls it avant garde, it's art; completely and constitutionally defensible.
My point is.. fuck, I forgot. I think it was something to do with grass houses and stowing thrones.
For the record, I am neither right nor left, but I can see both sides from here. Being a free-thinker, I sometimes lean liberal. Being an entrepreneurial soul, I sometimes favor the GOP pro-business position. I just dislike extremes. Umm.. also christ-humping teddybears of pure patroitic love. I don't like them much either.

I'm sure you've all seen this site's newest kow tow to our nation's hyper-xtian ultra-right wing nazism. They are now disallowing ALL adult tribes/images/ideas. They're looking to destroy what made Tribe.net good.
I weep...
I now understand why they tried to label this tribe as illegal two weeks ago. All that is good must go. Make room for the EYEBALL SODDING, CHRIST HUMPING teddybears of pure patriotic love. But platonic love, of course. No fluids!

Body: Please light a candle!

Today, Bristol-Myers Squibb, the pharmaceutical monolith that charges nearly $1,000 for a 30 day supply of one of its HIV/AIDS medications, is donating $1 to the National AIDS Fund for each person who simply visits their website and "virtually lights a candle." The tally is over 800,000 now.

Please, please take a minute to "light a candle":

www.lighttounite.org

This really will take just a second!! :) Please forward this on to other friends!

P.S. Please, take a few seconds to repost this so that the word can get out to as many people as possible. Thank You!

.. GWB has gone too far for even THEM this time.

Hey kids, remember these funny little concepts like "freedom from persecution" and "civil liberties". Say goodbye to those, and hello to the "Military Commission’s Act of 2006"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15220450/

The writ of habeas corpus (burden of proof, basically) no longer applies to those deemed by a military tribunal formed and appointed by president or secretary of defense to be enemies or foreign hostiles. How are they proved to be "enemies or foreign hostiles", one might ask. See above; the writ of habeas corpus no longer applies..
In other words, you can be sentenced or held indefinitely, without stated cause, if you are declared a threat to security; and once you are, no proof need be given.

I wish I were exaggerating, or taking the alarmist position. This is real, this is now.

I'll be holding a funeral for the constitution in my back yard. Unless I'm wrongly imprisoned before then.. In meantime, I welcome your thoughts.

There are certain songs which evoke a profound response in us, both emotionally and intellectually. I'm going to start by mentioning this one; I hope you will add some of your favourites.

Damien Rice - The Professor
Lyrics can be found here: http://www.eskimofriends.com/lyrics.asp#professor
This song must be heard to be truly appreciated and the artist believes music should be free to all. Therefore, I will email an MP3 to anyone who wishes.

Someone I love very much (you know who you are) turned me on to Damien Rice a few weeks ago, much to my delight. She described this song to me as one that every man should hear and take to heart. I believe she's right.

So, as I said before, please add any songs which you feel fit in with the concept of sapiosexuality, sapiosensuality and the like.

In keeping with my clearly stated policy of "POST or KILL ME!", I've been forced to take my own life. It was quick and painless, I assure you. What a strange thing it is to find that heaven won't have me, and the devil's afraid I might take over. So back I came, pushed out into the world like an aborted fetus, dressed it mommy's Sunday finest and sent off to school, mind still sticky and filled with the crown of glory.
That image may just send me back into therapy..

In short, I met a girl, moved around a lot, got married, moved around s'more, and finally settled in where I am now.
*whew*
These days I can only get online at the local library and at the homes of friendly friends. Thus, while I'm back now, it'll still be sporadic for awhile. Keep the faith, I'll be around. :o)

*points* Is that a diplodocus?! *disappears*

Do you ever get the desire...

Do you ever get the desire to grok another individual?

When a person strikes you as so enchanting and unique that you want to discover them on the quantum level?

Walking your fingertips one cell at a time accross the matrix of their flesh...

To feel their textures against your skin -- the rough spots...the smooth spots...

To submerge yourself, one sense at a time, into their beingness...

Filling your consciousness with their smells -- the good ones, the bad ones, the acquired ones, the temporary ones...

To look into their eyes, and discover every mote of pigment in their irises, the spacing of their eyelashes, and the primitive responses of their pupils to your presence...

The temperature of their breath...

The texture of their tongue...

The texture of the skin on their neck...along with the taste...

To discover any bones that press against their skin, and then to trace them and appreciate their hardness...

To feel each muscle as it contracts and discover its other shapes and its strength...

To locate those places that change when lightly touched..., or when blown upon...

To see how their body reacts as you move cell by cell in the most sensitive of areas...

Then to interjoin, discovering heat against heat, pressure against pressure, becoming one...,

and then reexperiencing everything mentioned above from a totally different perspective -- from a perspective of two...as one.......

tickling

I've read in some magazines one isn't supposed to be able to tickle one's self, on account of knowing what's coming next, unless you've got a serious psychological problem with multiple personalities ...
I've also read somewhere that a tickle is an orgasm on the skin ...
So the natural next question is how it's possible for supposedly normal people to masturbate to orgasm --OR-- the premise cannot be true ... and I'm leaning to the idea that the premise cannot be true ...
This is somewhat related to the consequences of "expectation" in sexual response and the function of blindfolds in sexual play
Any thoughts?

You will forever remain a tourist here.

I recently received a message from the newly self-appointed "Terms of Use" Guy. He accused us of bestiality, and insisted that we change everything, or be shut down forceably. Wow..! I have encouraged him/her to actually VIEW this tribe.
Hopefully, it's not contagious.

p.s. TOU guy, I realize that you probably serve some manner of useful function somewhere. I am simply requesting that you do a little homework before you make ludicrous accusations. Sheesh!

Intimate acts

I've long thought that preparing food for someone else is in many ways an intimate act. When we cook for someone, we're giving them what they need to survive, fulfilling a biological need. And they trust us enough to take what we've prepared and put it in one of the most intimate and guarded areas of the body, the mouth, taking it in and making it a part of their own body. And yet, we pay people to do this all the time and nobody thinks a thing of it. It's considered mundane.

Can anybody think of anything else we do all the time that, when you think about it, displays a level of trust and intimacy that we don't even give a second thought to?

sex as "pollination" vs. "planting" ....

i was just gifted with one of those little insights into a basic insanity of our collective sexual psyche here in western parts :
"semen" is a word derived from latin for "seed" - and we refer to cum as "seed" casually, and really, i think, on a deep level view coitus and conception as a man diggin in and planting seed in the fertile soil of woman ... yet the physiologically more appropriate analogy in terms of plantlife is of man-cum to pollen, the female the flower ...

thinkin on how the difference in the two metaphors affects the implications of the activity, i am stricken by how deeply our sexual psychology is affected by the kind-of inaccuracy of wording ...

also, as explained in "cunt - a declaration of independence", "vagina" is a word derived from a "a sheath for a sword" ... which changes the deep-seeded/pollinated psychology of our treatment of the vessel of life and all its lifesplendor profoundly from the origins of the now highly-corrupted word "cunt" - which comes, i THINK, more from something akin to "vessel of life" ...

First, let me say how happy I am that you found your way here. This serves to confirm for me that I'm not the only cerebraphile out there.
I suppose the first order of business is to get a photograph up. Please add a few of your own, and I'll select one to represent the tribe.
In the meantime, welcome. I'll post more soon.

What is something that no one would guess by looking at you or in brief interactions but you wish they could figure out about you right off the bat as it might just be the best thing about you?
What is sexy?

The topic of "porn" has been discussed ad nauseum, but it did raise a question for me. What is sexy?
What do you find sexy? Is "sexy" different than attractive? Do you believe that what arouses your interest in a potential mate differs greatly from the rest of the herd? Can there be purely cerebral attraction? Does any of this matter?
Am I engaging in mental masturbation yet AGAIN?!? ;o)

As self-described sapiophiles, it falls upon us to establish our standards. Don't fuck it up! :oP

I will, in all likelihood, offer my own thoughts on this one shortly.

A free Iraq will shave your llama.

I was hanging out with Jacques Treatment on Monday and he proposed the following game. I was already going to share it with you folks, but since he posted it so succinctly on another tribe we're both members of, I'll just copy/paste it here.
Enjoy!

<During the last debate, Dubya kept hammering on the term "A Free Iraq" and the things that it will do. We started playing a game tonight, coming up with all sorts of things that a free Iraq will do:

A free Iraq will clip our toenails.
A free Iraq will eat our leftovers.
A free Iraq will harangue our sisters.
A free Iraq will run with scissors.
.
.
.

And so on. Play this game with your friends, let me know some of the ones you guys come up with.

A free Iraq will come up with a few zingers of their own.>

I took the game out for coffee tonight. Here's a few that came back.

A free Iraq will circumcise your Buick.
A free Iraq will follow you to work.
A free Iraq will be your bitch for three smokes and a Q-tip.
A free Iraq will give your coat that healthy shine.
A free Iraq will leave the tip.
A free Iraq tastes like candy!
A free Iraq will eat snot on a dare.
On my world, we gave up a free Iraq EONS ago!
A free Iraq will like it.
